Top 10 Greatest Games of All Time

 (HALF-LIFE 2 (2004
Here, graphics reached a point where they were good enough. Believable enough. Real enough. The physics engine was equally bang-on. But the ultimate reason why HL2 remains at the top of this list is simply that it plays better than any other game ever. And that’s that, that’s the last word in what the Best Game Ever is and always will be. You might read other lists, you might hear people say “oooh, you’ve got to play Impetuous Mole Crusade, it’s the best game evvvah,” but they’re wrong. We’ve made the decision and that’s final and if you disagree, you’re wrong, because we’ve published our opinions on the internet and that made them true

LEGEND OF ZELDA: OCARINA OF TIME

The transition of big-name game franchises to 3D was no picnic, but Nintendo consistently aced it, with the likes of this and, of course, Super Mario 3D. I remember the days when I played The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time for the first time. I was born in 1993 and I think I was about 6 years old when I played it. There was only one thing that I hated with the game: Water Temple. I spent so many hours trying to figure out what to do. Remember, YouTube did not exist and therefore it was impossible to get concrete clues. This game will always be a part of my childhood and my existence. I get so emotional every time I play it because the older the game gets, you get older too. My favorite music is Zora’s Domain and Gerudo Valley

(Deus Ex: Human Revolution (2010

This first-person shooter tied up the best elements of an RPG – the kit bag, the customisable character, the big, explorable locations – with some of the best stealth play ever designed and the occasional burst of all-out mega-weapon combat. What made it really special, though, was the enormous and consistent attention to detail, with an enormous cast, a writhing plot and loads to read and watch an interfere with. It’s like playing a Neal Stephenson novel

(SUPER MARIO KART (1992
You can keep your hyper-realistic physics and your engine tuning. When it comes to having actual fun, nothing beats taking one of the definitive Mario Kart’s cheeky short cuts, picking off the leader with a red shell and power-sliding round the last corner. Unlike ‘proper’ driving games it’s an absolute piece of cake to get into, but you can spend years honing your skills on more advanced tracks like the spacefaring disco of Rainbow Road

(PORTAL (2007
One of the most imaginative, original games ever made, Portal delivers a hugely satisfying hit of humor and increasingly fiendish puzzle-solving without ever requiring you to fire a shot

(MASS EFFECT 2 (2010
Mass Effect 2 is an action role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. It was released for Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360 on January 26, 2010, and for PlayStation 3 on January 18, 2011. Mass Effect 2 is the second installment of the Mass Effect series and a sequel to the original Mass Effect. The player assumes the role of Commander Shepard, an elite human soldier who must construct and gain the loyalty of a diverse team in order to defeat the enemy in a suicide mission. With the use of a completed saved game of its predecessor, the player can impact the story of the game in numerous ways

(AGE OF EMPIRES II (1999
The Civilization series may take the crown when it comes to soaking up years of your spare time on needlessly complicated irrigation projects, but Age of Empires is much more fun. There’s some history in there, certainly, but if you get fidgety you can always type ‘how do you turn this on’ (the always-hilarious car cheat )and drive around Mesopotamia wheel spinning your enemies into the ground

(GTA Vice city (2013

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is an open world action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. It was released on 27 October 2002 for the PlayStation 2 console, on 12 May 2003 for Microsoft Windows, and on 31 October 2003 for the Xbox console. It is the sixth title in the Grand Theft Auto series, and the first main entry since 2001’s Grand Theft Auto III

(JOURNEY (2012

Journey is an indie video game developed by That game company for the PlayStation 3. It was released on March 13, 2012, via the PlayStation Network. In Journey, the player controls a robed figure in a vast desert, traveling towards a mountain in the distance. Other players on the same journey can be discovered, and two players can meet and assist each other, but they cannot communicate via speech or text and cannot see each other’s names. The only form of communication between the two is a musical chime. This chime also transforms dull, stiff pieces of cloth found throughout the levels into vibrant red, affecting the game world and allowing the player to progress through the levels. The robed figure wears a trailing scarf, which when charged by approaching floating pieces of cloth, briefly allows the player to float through the air
